Whether you’re just starting out or an avid gym junkie drinking water is extremely important to make sure you’re getting the most out of your workout. While you exercise your body prepares to regulate body temperature, this causes you body to lose water. To most this is obvious but have you ever noticed some workout are less effective than others? Maybe you’re tired, had a stressful week or eaten a sleeve of Oreos the night before. Whatever you think the reason might be chance are you’re just dehydrated.
So, what are some guidelines to drinking water before, during and after a workout? We’ve compiled some guidelines that will have you feeling fresh heading to and from your workout!

Keeping this in mind before, during and after your workout will drastically improve hydration for a more effective workout.
Sports drinks and other alternatives that claim health and hydration. Unless you are performing at an elite level there is no need to substitute for Gatorade, coconut water or any other fluid with electrolytes. These usually only add sugar and unwanted calories to your diet so stick with your pressed water if you’re looking for something with flavor. Investing in a durable water bottle that you can carry with you will remind and encourage you to stay hydrated through out your day. You’re also doing your part by reducing waste!
