Halloween's "Sweet" But How Do We Come Out of a Sugar Binge?

Pressa Bottle can juice pomegranate fruit into your water. Utilizing it's powerful antioxidants

We’re all just big kids so when Halloween rolls around we’re going to indulge in the Candy we’ve loved forever. The important part is how you detox your body after a sugar binge. Sugar is the cause of quite a few imbalances in your body and effects your mood, energy and immune system, which we all know can lead to a annoying cold.

While candy corns or Reese’s Pieces aren’t something you should incorporate into your regular diet it’s quite easy to get back on track and flush sugar from your body. Here’s how to do it!

  1.  Drink water. A lot of water. Pressed waterto be exact!

Drinking water flushes the bad toxins (glucose) from the body so staying hydrated is something you need to do if you want to bounce back. Stay away from coffee (as much as possible), juices and energy drinks. These often promise health and hydration but in reality they provide the opposite, often dehydrating your body. The recommended daily intake of water is about 2 Pressa Bottle’s for females and 3 for males, this obviously depends on how active you are during the day.

Pressa Bottle juices raspberries to release it's juice and create a healthy alternative to sugary drinks.

  1. What to Eat???

That delicious Halloween candy disrupts your blood sugar so in order to return it to an acceptable level you’ll need eat proteins and good fats. When we refer to good fats we are referring to foods like nuts, seeds, beans, fish, lean meat, eggs etc. These types of foods are generally tougher for you to digest, making you feel full longer. Try and crush cravings with fruit instead of artificial sugars.

  1. Eat Your Greens…. And Everything Else That’s Colorful

Go for the greens; spinach, broccoli etc. These are loaded with antioxidants and phytonutrients which each do their part in repairing your body after a sugar overload. A sugar binge can feed the bad bacteria in your body so if you’re feeling hungry go for the veggies or fruit!

Keeping these three simple things in mind will help you bounce back from your sugar Hangover and will have you prep'd until the next Holiday rolls around...
